Bai Hao Yin Zhen

White teas are as close as most of us come to simply steeping a freshly plucked tea leaf in our cups, and Bai Hao Yin Zhen has earned our adoration as both an exceedingly pleasant drink, and the original white tea born of China’s Fujian province. Produced from only furled leaf buds and plucked over a short period in Spring, “White Hair Silver Needle” is a prized and truly artisanal tea the world over.
When it comes to Bai Hao Yin Zhen, there are few teas like it. Tightly wrapped buds form the downy spires that earn this tea its name. A clean fragrance carrying floral scents accompanies the leaf, strong and clear for an otherwise delicate tea. It steeps to a pale golden liquor, that tastes uniquely sweet and silky without being overly subtle. What we love most about this tea, however, is the texture of the cuppa – buttery, smooth, and possessing a satisfying viscosity we often associate with richer teas. All in all, this brews an elegant cuppa that lives up to its reputation.

Butterscotch-Caramel

Inspired by boardwalk confectioneries, our Butterscotch-Caramel is one of those treats that we fight tooth and nail over. Sweet and smooth, this black tea blend serves up as a dessert all its own, and makes our mouths water just from the candy-rich aroma. Even better, it’s a favorite tea to serve iced when we have a sweet tooth around without needing to add sugar.

Cacao Husk

We are excited to offer a unique taste experience in this new tisane, made from the winnowed husks of ethically sourced, organic cacao beans! During the chocolate-making process, chocolatiers roast cacao beans and then remove the outer shells to obtain the nib. These husks retain a tiny portion of the cocoa nib and the aromatic oils that give chocolate its flavorful characteristics, so when steeped in hot water – they make an intense, cocoa cuppa!
Our husks come from beans hailing from Bolivia, Peru and the Dominican Republic. This blend yields a richly aromatic, slightly spicy cup reminiscent of Mexican drinking chocolate.
Important: We highly recommend two teaspoons of tea and one teaspoon of sugar per cup when making this tea! The sugar fully awakens the cocoa flavor, similar to adding sugar to cocoa powder for a pleasing hot chocolate.

Chinese Tea Bundle

China is steeped (pun intended) in history and fable when it comes to chá, or tea, as its country of origin. For the vast majority of the world’s tea drinkers, they’re not only referred to to Chinese tea when they speak of the drink, but of green and oolong varieties – not black, which became vastly more popular in the west simply because it could survive the long journeys of trade missions. The sheer diversity in these lightly oxidized teas is staggering, however, and each one truly unique.
Our Chinese collection contains prime examples of Imperial teas, the teas fabled to have been reserved only for consumption by Emperors across China’s history – sometimes referred to as the Emperor’s Ten Teas or China’s Famous Teas. Longjing (Dragonwell) and Liu An Gua Pian (Melon Seed) are greens of great contrast, comparing nutty sweetness versus a very floral, clean cuppa. Ti Kuan Yin (Iron Goddess) and our Mount Wuyi Qilan are drastically different oolongs, with the former revered aromatic drink that endures much resteeping versus a dark, toasty oolong featuring mineral elements and an underlying sweetness. Citrus Sunset

A cheerful blend of African rooibos, Sunset’s scent fills a room as soon as it starts steeping, transforming wherever you are into a citrus grove. This bright brew is a lively drink, pairing crisp lemon flavors with the sweetness of summer berries. Besides being delicious hot, our Citrus Sunset is amazing iced, without the caffeine of normal tea.

Coconut Black

Blended with Nilgiri tea, this is a subtle and satisfying flavored blend. We’ve taken high-quality tea balanced for its light astringency and warm flavors, and combined it with the perfect mix of coconut to provide a cuppa that drinks smooth and nutty – the coconut pairs with the tea to accent its flavor, rather than overwhelm it. This makes a fantastic iced tea as well as hot, and is 100% organically produced.

Dragonwell Imperial

Also known as “Longjing,” Dragonwell teas are renowned the world over, and for good reason. Produced in the Zhejiang province of China, this ancient green tea is an elegant flat leaf that brews to silky smooth cuppa. Called “Imperial” after the tea’s status among Chinese Emperors, our Dragonwell has a mellow sweetness with a nutty finish, and is both of high grade and organically produced.

Earl Grey Crème

We admit it: we love Earl Grey teas. Be it a tall cuppa with a book on a crisp autumn day, or sipping it on the bridge of a starship, this recognizable blend has captured more than its fair share of tea lovers as the most popular tea of the Western world. Traditionally a strong black tea flavored with oils from the bergamot orange (common to Italy and southern France), our Earl Grey Crème includes one of our favorite variations: a measure of creamy vanilla, to elevate and round the brisk citrus undertones into a drink fit to crave.

Fujian Oolong

A more oxidized, darker oolong, this tea is born of the Fujian province of China. This is one of our favorite “all the time” teas, as it stands up to many steeps, each of which brings out new nuances of flavor. The liquor of our Fujian oolong brews warm red, and yields a toasty flavor mixed with faint fruity notes. Further steeps draw subtle spotlights to these, as well as mineral flavors.

Genmaicha

Genmaicha is one of those teas that either you love, or you stare at in confusion. This blend mixes high-grade Japanese bancha with gloriously nutty toasted rice – often called “popcorn tea” for its unique appearance, we just call it good eats.
This tea has a roasted, toasty flavor from the rice, and drink exceedingly smoothly; a mellow and nuanced cuppa. As it brews up rather substantial, it makes for a perfect mid-day drink in between meals, and pairs up with traditional Asian-style meals like a champion.

It took a long time for us to come to an peaceful understanding with herbal teas. As habitual tea drinkers, a lot of common herbal blends were too overburdened with conflicting flavors and fruitiness for our everyday desires. In looking for ways to elevate African Red Bush tisanes like rooibos and honeybush, however, we found uncommon flavors and quality that really called out to our team.

Himalayan Golden

Grown on the mountain ridges of Nepal, our Himalayan Golden is one of those teas we have difficulty sharing. Much like its name, the brewed liquor is a bright, rich gold that gives off a floral scent. Drinking it is an even bigger treat, as this high altitude cup is exquisite with its earthy characteristics that don’t overwhelm, and precise balance of astringency.

Jade Pouchong

Pouchong teas are a unique (and treasured) breed, as they walk a fine line between the distinctions of green and oolong – these gorgeous leaves are extremely lightly oxidized, less though than most oolongs on the greener side of style. Our Jade Pouchong is of Taiwanese origins and high-quality, made with big leaves that produce an amber-green elixir of sweet aroma. To taste, the brew is delicate, subtle, and sweet, and drinks buttery smooth.
- Pairs well with sushi, white fish, vegetables, and quiet moments to savor it.

Jasmine Monkey King

Our Jasmine Monkey King is a scented green tea, left to mingle with freshly cut jasmine flower blossoms and absorb their aroma. Each batch of jasmine tea requires patience, as the tea is left to rest with the blossoms for several hours a day, a repeated process that can take weeks!
We enjoy this tea for its strength and balance. Our offering has the bright, powerful aromatics of jasmine as any such tea should, but without overwhelming the senses. In the cup, the flowers play off of quality green tea, gifting the drinker with a sweetly brisk cuppa accented with floral that shares the stage, rather than fill it!

Keemun

Keemun has a history as rich as its taste – a Chinese government official found himself out of work and out of luck just before the turn of the 20th century, and taking his father’s advice that “a skill is a better guarantee than a title” for making a living, entered the tea trade in Anhui Province. What he produced remains the tea to which all other black teas are held.
Our superior grade Keemun has a distinctive fruity fragrance without being overpowering. When brewed, it shows off the tea’s famously striking amber liquor, while the flavor is dark, rich, and toasty, with a hint of smokiness.
